I found the statue of Elisabeth of Austria, who is famous for the nickname "Sisi".
But why does the statue stand here?
Because she was assassinated here, in Geneva in 1898 when she was 60 years old.
She came to Geneva on vacation and stayed at the hotel Beau Rivage.
She was walking along the promenade in front of the hotel, and suddenly attacked by the Italian anarchist Luigi Lucheni.
She managed to escape to the ship, but she collapsed and lost her consciousness. It was never regained.
To be continued...
